@rmbyrne from Free Technology for Teachers posted a website that was created by a social studies teacher in Michigan. The site has multimedia books on common social studies topics. It's divided into World Geography, World Religions, Ancient History, and Colonial America. The books include text, pictures, videos, and links to other resources.

This is a great find by @anacristinaprts on her Digital Delights for Learners site. FREE (@freeresources) has an enormous variety of resources categorized by subject. You can choose from animations, documents, videos, and photos; everything is so easy to find!

Google Earth Channel on YouTube

I found this resource from @engaginged's blog Engaging Educators. I had no idea that Google Earth had a YouTube channel! This is definitely a powerful tool to use in Social Studies and Geography lessons.

PBS Learning Media

This site from PBS is a great resource to teachers of all grade levels. It's free to create an account (if you don't, you only get to view 3 resources). Once you're in, you can select the grade levels, subjects, media type, languages, and accessibility to narrow your resources. 

There's a lot of playing around to do on this site because there are tons of resources here! New features coming soon to this site are National and Common Core curriculum standards, teacher-managed classroom pages, and more!

Create Animated Google Maps
